Now it is possible to help the Aniyim at a most appropriate place: at the cashier of most food establishments in Monsey, where you can pick up a $1, $3, or $5 card, and the donation will be added to your total. Tomche Shabbos will use the donation to provide groceries to the Aniyim of Monsey.

Tomche Shabbos of Rockland County sends Mishloach Manos to the Aniyim of the Monsey community. On Purim day itself, substantial food baskets are sent to those who are less fortunate. Some even receive a full Purim seudah!
Participation in our Purim Card campaign funds this project. Decorative cards printed with our original Purim poem inside, come with an envelope so that you can mail them to your family and friends in lieu of sending them Mishloach Manos. |

The halacha urges neighbors to assure that those sitting shiva be permitted to do so without economic distress. Tomche Shabbos of Rockland County has taken this responsibility upon itself, and wishes to fulfill it in a discreet manner.
An envelope containing cash and a Tomche Shabbos money lock box is given to all households in the community where shiva is being observed, regardless of the individuas financial situation.
Any or all of this money may be used. Any unused money is discreetly returned to Tomche Shabbos for other families in need.
Boxes are not opened until after several uses, therby assuring complete anonymity even from Tmche Shabbos volunteers. Please call if you know of a family sitting shiva. |

Years ago there was a beautiful custom of inviting poor people to actually eat at a simcha – it was called the Aniyim Table. A special table would be set aside where Aniyim were invited to sit and partake of the festivities. Though our lifestyle doesn’t allow for poor people to actually come and join the simcha, Tomche Shabbos has revived this custom in an interesting manner.
The logistics are simple - $36 will purchase a package that will feed a family of two adults and four children for a Shabbos. Purchase packages, and designate which Shabbos your package should be delivered – Tomche Shabbos volunteers will do the rest.
Can you imagine the wonderful feeling you will have knowing that the Shabbos of your simcha you have also provided food for needy families? It is as if you had invited these families to be guests to your simcha! |
